In a major step towards environmental transparency, SEED has unveiled its latest feature: Mining Rehabilitation Data. For the first time, data submitted by NSW large mines to the Resources Regulator as part of compliance activities is being made publicly available.
Developed in 2016 in response to community requests for reliable and accessible environmental information, SEED continues to serve as the central resource for essential environmental data. Our latest data release offers detailed spatial maps from large mines, highlighting ongoing rehabilitation efforts and plans for post-mining land use. This information provides insight into how mining sites are being rehabilitated, giving the community a clearer view of environmental progress.
Why Does This Matter? It means the public can now access up-to-date information on how mines are working to rehabilitate the land. With this development, SEED is setting a new standard for environmental data sharing.
