Forecast Data Layer
Large mine operators annually submit Forward Programs to forecast proposed land disturbance and rehabilitation over the next 3 years, as outlined in Schedule 8A of the Mining Regulation 2016.
This information is divided into three layers for each of the three forecast years: year 1, year 2, and year 3. It indicates where the operator will start new land disturbance and rehabilitation efforts.
The operators of large mines upload their own data to meet these requirements to the Resources Regulator in NSW. This data is then utilised by the Regulator when reviewing rehabilitation progress and targeted verification inspections. As part of this process, data inaccuracies maybe identified that require rectification and resubmission.
