Final Landuse Layer
This information is created and submitted by each large mine operator to fulfil the Final Landuse and Rehabilitation Plan data submission requirements under Schedule 8A of the Mining Regulation 2016. This data is submitted by mine operators when a project is given initial approval and is only required to be updated if there are final landuse or landform changes, usually due to modifications in development consent.
The information is separated into 3 layers:
Final landuse: Provides information on the approved post closure final landuse of a mine site.
Final landform features: Provides information on specific features to be designed, installed or maintained as part of the final landform. For instance, safety bunds, permanent bodies of water within final void, significant drainage structures, fencing, etc.
Final landform contours: provides an indication of the post mining landform.

The Resources Regulator in NSW conducts reviews of this data which is submitted for assessment purposes. In some cases, information provided may contain inaccuracies that require adjustment following the assessment process by the Regulator. The Regulator will request data resubmission if issues are identified.
