Annual Submission Data Layer

Large mine operators submit yearly reports on land disturbed by mining activities, as outlined in Schedule 8A of the Mining Regulation 2016. These reports contain information on mine disturbance and rehabilitation as follows:

Disturbance: Describes the location and type of mining activities that have affected the land.

Rehabilitation: Describes the location and phase of rehabilitation that has been conducted on previously mined disturbed land.

Current landform contours: Displays the shape of the land after both mine disturbance and rehabilitation activities have been undertaken in the past year.

The operators of large mines upload their own data to meet these requirements to the Resources Regulator in NSW. This data is then used by the Regulator when reviewing rehabilitation progress and targeted verification inspections. As part of this process, data inaccuracies may be identified that require rectification and resubmission.
